In reply to Peter Finch. We think there was an R.Whites factory in Napier road (292 ?) in Gillingham. The building is still there. We're trying to investigate the history of the building itself for the local archive centre.

My Reading family lived at 212 Neate St, Peckham in 1921, and from the about 1957, 6 Neate St. I know my g.gran Elizabeth was a bottle washer.
My other side of the family lived at 74 Tilson Rd in 1914 then moved to 50 Tilson Rd sound 1921. They were the Driscoll family. I would be interested to hear if anyone knew anything about both families

My Aunt Queenie & Uncle Fred Ellis lived at 50 Neate Street in the 60s right next to Edgingtons that had big double gates. Used to visit them there at weekends. Uncle Fred worked R Whites lemonade factory. They had two sons Roy & Derek. Roy got married in 1963 at St.Georges Church. I was his bridesmaid when I was 5 years old. Don’t know if anybody would remember them.

I remember an R White’s depot in Park Road, Chislehurst, Kent, as it was then, when I lived in Chislehurst from 1945 to 1970, now demolished and a modern day mews built to replace this old building. The iconic R White logo on the front of the building and their lorries.

I am 90 now. I remember that there was a lemonade factory in White Hart Lane, north London. It might have just been in Tottenham on the border with Wood Green. Coincidently, when I first went to watch Spurs at the end of WW2 there was a player named in the programme as Major R. White playing for Spurs. I thought that maybe he was something to do with the lemonade factory.

In reply to Olga van den Berg-Turkstra. Today I found a glass bottle where an old hedgerow had (unfortunately) been dug up in Hertfordshire UK. It has the same mark as your bottle. After some google searches the Reg D means registered design for glass/metal/pottery. I think the No. 888325 was made between 1950 and 1960.
